About Us
Scientifically Speaking is a science communication and engagement organisation working across the United Kingdom and Nigeria. We exist to improve how science and health knowledge is developed, shared, and used, by connecting research, innovation, public engagement, and creative practice.
We work with researchers, institutions, industry, communities, and funders to support research innovation, coordination, and impact, ensuring that scientific knowledge moves beyond the lab and into real-world decision-making, careers, and public life.
Where we work
Scientifically Speaking operates with a global outlook and local delivery.
United Kingdom
In the UK, our work includes research innovation support, professional training, public events, creative science communication, and partnerships with universities, industry, and cultural organisations.
Nigeria
In Nigeria, we focus on research coordination, capacity building, community-facing engagement, creative health communication, and partnerships with academic, regulatory, and innovation stakeholders.

Our UK–Nigeria model allows us to share learning, strengthen collaborations, and respond to different scientific and societal contexts.
Our Team
Scientifically Speaking is led by Dr Bahijja Raimi-Abraham, Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Dr Raimi-Abraham is a pharmacist, academic, and science communication leader whose work spans pharmaceutical sciences, global health, research innovation, and public engagement.
She established Scientifically Speaking to strengthen the connection between research, creativity, and society, ensuring that science moves beyond academic spaces and into meaningful real-world impact.

Scientifically Speaking operates through a small, focused team responsible for programme delivery, operations, partnerships, communications, and event coordination across the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
Our team works collaboratively to design structured programmes, deliver public engagement initiatives, support research innovation, and coordinate partnerships with institutions, industry, and community stakeholders.
Together, we combine academic expertise, creative practice, and operational discipline to deliver high-quality, programme-led work across learning, engagement, and creation.
What we do
Our work is delivered through three connected programmes SS Learn, SS Engage and SS Create that support the full science–society pipeline.
